Pyramid Contracting, a trusted leader in commercial and federal construction, is seeking a skilled Structural Steel & Siding Technician to join our growing team in Columbia, SC.
This hands-on role is perfect for someone experienced in assembling commercial metal siding, making field modifications to structural steel and sheet metal, and executing roof panel repairs with precision and safety in mind.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and install commercial metal siding systems
- Perform on-site modifications to structural steel as directed
- Repair or replace roof panels, ensuring weather-tight sealing
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications accurately
- Operate metalworking tools such as brakes, shears, torches, and welding equipment
- Work collaboratively with project managers and field crews to deliver quality results
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including OSHA regulations and site-specific requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in steel, metal siding, or related construction work
- Strong understanding of structural steel components and commercial metal cladding
- Comfortable working at heights and operating lifts or scaffolding
- Welding experience (stick or MIG) is a plus
- OSHA-10 preferred
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliable transportation required
- You may have previously held positions like Sheet Metal Mechanic, Commercial Roofer, Metal Building Constructor, Carpenter, Metal Roofer, etc.
